Group Stage Schedule — June 11 to June 27

The group stage has 72 matches and 12 groups with four teams in each group. Every team plays three matches. The schedule is busy from the first day until 27 June.

This part of the tournament is really long and very busy for the fans of the teams. It is important for teams to win early. The last day of group matches can change everything really quickly because many groups are still not decided until the very last match of the group stage. New Round of 32 — June 28 to July 3

The Round of 32 is a deal in the mens World Cup. It starts on 28 June. Goes on until 3 July. In this round 32 teams play 16 matches and only the best teams will move forward. This round is good for teams that did well in the group stage. It also gives teams that came third a chance to keep playing.

The Round of 32 should make the move from group football to knockout football more exciting. The pressure will be high, in these knockout matches. The teams will have to play their football to win.

Knockout Stage Schedule — July 4 to July 19

The World Cup has a lot of games. The Round of 16 is from 4 to 7 July. Then the Quarter-finals are from 9 to 11 July. After that the Round of 16 and Quarter-finals are done we have the semi-finals on 14 and 15 July. The World Cup teams that lose in the semi-finals play each other on 18 July. The World Cup final is on 19 July.

The quarter finals are really important because they will choose the four teams, for us.

Final — July 19
