Crystal Palace 2026-27: Squad, Players, Stadium, and Kits Guide

Crystal Palace 2026-27

Crystal Palace start 2026-27 with a new manager, a rebuilt squad and a place in the Europa League. Pierre Sage arrived in June after Oliver Glasner’s departure, while a busy transfer window changed every area of the team.

The challenge is bigger than simply improving on last season’s 15th-place league finish. Palace are trying to keep their direct, energetic edge while giving a much deeper squad enough control to handle Premier League and European matches in the same week.

This guide uses Crystal Palace and Premier League information checked on 4 September 2026. It covers the current squad and shirt numbers, Pierre Sage, Selhurst Park, all three Macron kits, recent league finishes, history, honours, rivals, tactics and common supporter questions.

About Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace are a South London club with a character shaped by Selhurst Park, the red-and-blue colours and a support that can turn a tight match into a noisy, emotional afternoon. The club were founded in 1905 and moved into Selhurst Park in 1924.

Palace spent much of their modern history moving between the top two divisions, but the current Premier League run began in 2013. That stability changed the scale of the club. It also gave a new generation of academy players and overseas signings a regular top-flight stage.

The last two seasons brought the biggest trophies in Palace history: the FA Cup in 2025 and the UEFA Conference League in 2026. Those wins raised expectations, even though the league campaign ended in 15th place.

2026-27 Season Preview

Sage inherits a squad with more options than the group that finished last season. Ben Chilwell, Óscar Mingueza, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Axel Disasi add experience across the back line. Quinten Timber and Darío Osorio bring new energy in midfield, while Dwight McNeil and Zavier Gozo widen the attacking choices.

There are still real questions to answer. Palace must replace the drive and recovery speed lost from earlier versions of the side, protect an older group through a crowded schedule and decide which forwards work best together. Jean-Philippe Mateta gives the team a strong reference point, but Nketiah, Strand Larsen and Guessand offer different runs and pressing styles.

The Europa League adds excitement and strain. Palace cannot treat Thursday nights as a bonus and then expect the same eleven to look fresh on Sunday. Rotation, set-piece defending and game management will matter as much as the best starting lineup.

Crystal Palace Squad 2026-27

The player cards follow the official Crystal Palace first-team page, the club’s August and deadline-day number announcements, and the Premier League squad page. The sources were checked after the summer window on 4 September 2026.

Palace’s own profile grid showed 28 players at the time of checking. Evann Guessand is included as number 29 because the club confirmed his season-long loan return on 12 August and the Premier League lists him in the current squad.

Crystal Palace Recent Standings

SeasonPositionPoints
2025-2615th45
2024-2512th53
2023-2410th49

The official 2025-26 Premier League table records Palace in 15th with 45 points. That was a drop from 12th and 53 points in 2024-25, while 2023-24 ended with a strong tenth-place finish.

League position tells only part of the recent story. Palace won the FA Cup during the 2024-25 season and followed it with the Conference League in 2025-26. Sage now has to join those cup highs to steadier week-by-week league results.

Crystal Palace Manager: Pierre Sage

Crystal Palace appointed Pierre Sage on 15 June 2026. The French coach arrived after taking Lens to second place in Ligue 1 and winning the Coupe de France.

Sage likes his teams to play forward when the space is there, but he is not tied to one rigid shape. His sides can build with three defenders, push the wing-backs high and ask midfielders to move quickly around the ball rather than standing in fixed lanes.

At Palace, the important balance is behind the attack. If Chilwell or Mitchell pushes on, the opposite side may need to stay narrower. Timber, Wharton, Lerma and Doucouré give Sage several midfield combinations, but the team must keep enough protection when attacks break down.

Crystal Palace Stadium: Selhurst Park

Selhurst Park has been Palace’s home since 1924. The stadium sits in South London and currently holds 25,486 supporters. Its four stands are the Main Stand, Holmesdale Road Stand, Arthur Wait Stand and Whitehorse Lane Stand.

The ground is compact and close to the pitch, which helps create the noise Selhurst is known for. The Holmesdale is the visual and vocal centre on matchday, while the older Main Stand is the focus of a major redevelopment plan.

Work announced around the stadium and training ground forms part of a longer-term push to improve facilities. The planned Main Stand project is expected to raise total capacity to roughly 34,000 once complete, but this guide uses the current operating figure rather than the future target.

Crystal Palace Kits 2026-27

Macron supplies Palace’s three 2026-27 kits. The Eagle Sash home kit, Eagle Black away kit and Eagle Wings third kit were all launched by the club before the season.

Home Kit: Eagle Sash

The white home shirt brings back Palace’s diagonal red-and-blue sash, first used in 1976. Macron adds striped shoulders and a modern version of the club badge.

Away Kit: Eagle Black

The away shirt has a black base, red-and-blue trim and a subtle eagle pattern worked into the body. The clean white eagle badge stands out against the dark fabric.

Third Kit: Eagle Wings

The third shirt returns to strong red and blue, using an angular wing pattern across the front and sleeves. It is the boldest of Palace’s three match shirts.

Crystal Palace History

Crystal Palace were founded in 1905 and originally played near the Crystal Palace exhibition building. The club’s identity later settled around Selhurst Park and South London, with the eagle badge and red-and-blue colours becoming familiar parts of English football.

Palace reached the FA Cup final in 1990 and again in 2016, losing both to Manchester United. The breakthrough finally came in May 2025, when Eberechi Eze scored the winner against Manchester City at Wembley. It was the first major trophy in the club’s history.

A year later, Palace beat Rayo Vallecano in Leipzig to win the UEFA Conference League. Winning domestic and European trophies in consecutive seasons moved the club into a new chapter before Sage took charge.

Crystal Palace Honours

The leading honours are the FA Cup in 2024-25, the FA Community Shield in 2025 and the UEFA Conference League in 2025-26. Palace also won the Full Members’ Cup in 1991 and have twice finished as champions of the second tier.

The trophies from 2025 and 2026 carry the most weight because they were won in the modern era against top-level opposition. They also changed the question around Palace from whether the club could win a major competition to how often it could challenge again.

Crystal Palace Rivals

Brighton & Hove Albion are Palace’s best-known rivals. The distance between the clubs is not especially short, but meetings became heated through close league battles, cup ties and the rivalry between managers Terry Venables and Alan Mullery in the 1970s.

Games with Millwall and Charlton Athletic also matter because of the South London connection. Those fixtures have been less frequent in recent Premier League seasons, but the local edge has not disappeared.

Crystal Palace Tactical Outlook

Sage has enough defenders to use a back three or a back four. Mingueza can step inside from the right, Chilwell and Mitchell can provide width on the left, and Richards, Disasi, Riad, Tomiyasu and Canvot give the manager different levels of speed, aerial strength and passing comfort.

The midfield choice will shape the team. Wharton can control the first pass, Lerma and Doucouré add bite, Timber carries the ball, and Kamada looks for pockets closer to the forwards. Using too many attacking midfielders at once could leave Palace open, especially when both wide defenders push high.

Up front, Mateta can pin centre-backs and bring runners into play. Nketiah attacks the box, Strand Larsen offers another physical target, and Guessand can move across the line. Sarr, Pino, McNeil, Osorio and Gozo give Sage speed or delivery from wider positions.

Transfers and Squad Building

Palace used the summer to replace departures and add depth for Europe. Tomiyasu and Chilwell arrived with Premier League experience, while Mingueza gave the defence another comfortable passer. Disasi and Ahanor joined on loan, reducing the need to rely on one defensive combination.

Further forward, Timber and Osorio were late additions. McNeil brought proven left-footed delivery, Gozo added a younger attacking option, and Guessand returned after his loan spell in the second half of last season.

The work produced a large squad with competition in nearly every role. That depth should help during a European campaign, but Sage will still need a clear core so the team does not look different every week.
